Terms of Use and Sale

The short version: you buy a digital handbook for your household and you get it straight away. Because it’s a digital download, all sales are final.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use captainhalvard.com and when you buy The Captain's Handbook (“the handbook”). By buying, you agree to them. Contact: hi@captainhalvard.com.

2. The handbook

The handbook is a digital book in PDF format. We describe its contents on this website as accurately as we can. We may correct or update the handbook over time.

3. Ordering and payment

Orders are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, through Link, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. Its terms also apply to the payment. Prices are shown in euros and include any taxes that apply. You may be shown and charged the price in your local currency. Your order is confirmed when the payment succeeds.

4. Delivery

You get a download link right after payment. If you don’t receive it, or you lose it, email us from the address you paid with and we’ll send it again.

5. Your licence

When you buy the handbook, you get a personal licence to read, download, print and keep it, and to share it with people in your own household. You may not resell it, publish it, upload it to public websites or share it outside your household. All content is protected by copyright and remains ours.

6. No refunds on digital downloads

The handbook is digital content delivered immediately. At checkout you agree to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once the download is made available. This means all sales are final and we don’t offer refunds, except where the law requires it, for example if the file is faulty and we can’t fix it. See the refund policy.

7. Important: general information only

The handbook gives general information to help you prepare for emergencies at home. It is based on public guidance from official sources, but it is not professional, medical, legal or official advice, and it can’t cover every situation. In an emergency, call your local emergency number and always follow instructions from your local authorities and emergency services. You are responsible for how you use the information.

8. Our liability

We prepare the handbook with care, but we can’t guarantee that it is complete, error-free or right for your situation. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. The website

You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. Don’t copy its content or try to disrupt it. Links to other websites are provided for convenience, and we aren’t responsible for their content.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms. The version on this page when you buy applies to your purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please write to us first. Most problems are solved with one email.
